No fight in the Irish

This is going to be a painful year to watch Notre Dame. Yesterday's decapitation by unranked Georgia Tech stands as the worst season-opening loss in Irish history. How bad was it?
  • ND's first pass completion of the post-Brady Quinn Era didn't come until the middle of the second quarter.
  • GT kept Notre Dame from crossing midfield until 10:05 was left in the third quarter, and it took a roughing-the-passer penalty to do it.
  • The offense was minus-8 yards rushing, surrendered nine sacks, and totalled a mere 122 yards.
There is no Fight in these Irish. It is going to be a tough season.
