Yesterday was Grant's final day at preschool. They had a big party including a pinata. He is very excited about all this, since kindergarten means he will get to ride the school bus with the big kids.
This morning as Alec and Ethan left for the bus, Grant asked if he was also going. The little cutie literally cannot wait!

Return of the Lucas
Star Wars Episode III ROCKS. After Lucas bombed in eps 1 & 2, he redeems himself masterfully in Revenge of the Sith. Alec and I enjoyed it tremendously. We want to see it again! We had good seats too, and very few dorks in line. It wasn't like this at all ;)
For those of you with kids, be warned that it is rated PG-13 with good reason. Unless you want your little ones to see people catch fire, dismemberment and murdered children, best save it for when they are older. No way will I take Ethan and Grant to this one.
On the road again
w00t! I ran four miles! Woo-hoo!My ankle is a bit stiff this morning, but no swelling or pain. I declare it officially healed.

Running again
I am running again, at least I think so. Two days ago I kicked it up to two miles on the treadmill without any significant ankle issues, just some mild swelling. Yesterday, I upped it to three miles without incident. Later today I plan to try four. It feels so great to be finally active again. I think the lack of physical activity was starting to depress me.
Beware. Ramblings ahead...
Lea says that Moment of Flight alum will not have to audition again, so I guess that means I am part of next year's cast! Cool.
Alec and I have tickets to see Star Wars Episode III tomorrow evening. I bought the tickets online a few days ago and went to pick them up at lunch today. Just minutes before I got there, a guy had started a line for the 12:01 am show. Tomorrow. Dweeb.
There was a TV camera there taping him. What was strange is that he was there alone. It would be one thing to camp out in a long line, or arrive 12 hours early with friends, but he was there alone. Stereotypically, he was reading a sci-fi fantasy book. At least he wasn't wearing a costume.

Next stop: Richmond
Very cool! "Moment of Flight"/"Rope" will open in Richmond in February, 2006. Supposedly the auditions are taking place this month. (C'ville review of the show is here.)Physical therapy this morning kicked my ass. Ouch. I think they overworked my ankle Thursday. Each morning since it takes me about a half-hour to loosen up to the point where I am not limping. Thursday I did a mile on the treadmill; today I only made it a half-mile. Damn.
I am hopeful that Rob and Lea are convinced enough of my abilities that they will let me onto the cast. I really want to stay involved with the show. Not only was it fantastically cool and great fun, but it also has given me back the flexibility I had as an 18 year-old track guy, and provides me with a much-needed mental respite from the stresses of my job.

Back to running
At least a bit. I have been doing physical therapy for my ankle and it is helping. I ran one full mile yesterday for the first time since my sprain, although it took ten minutes.

Irony
Often when I hear the word "ironic" the speaker is misusing the word, thinking it is a synonym of "sucks" or "unfortunate." This is true irony.
